CELEBRATING 90 YEARS OF GIRL GUIDING IN SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL CAMP 2007Dear Guiders,
We are pleased to extend to your Company/Pack an invitation to participate in International Camp 2007.
Held once every 5 years, International Camp 2007 is organized as part of the Association’s 90th Anniversary Celebrations of Girl Guiding in Singapore. The camp will continue GGS triennium theme of 2006 - 2008 which is “Discover your potential” and focusing on the aspect of “nurturing girl, empowering women” in 2007. International Camp 2007 will encourage and challenge each of us to discover and celebrate our potentials as girls and women.

28 November – 2 December 2007
Venue:
Camp Christine
Guide Participants:
1 patrol of 4 guides (maximum 2 patrols per company)Brownie Participants:
Maximum 4 Brownies per pack (and must be in either primary 5 or 6)
Guider Attendance:
It is compulsory that at least 1 guider attends the camp together with the Guides/Brownies. All guiders must play a role at the camp. The details of the various responsibilities are attached.
Camp Fee:
S$200 per girl (inclusive of activities and excursion charges). The camp fee is to be submitted only after the Coy/Pack’s registration for the camp has been accepted.
Dorothy Chan Camp Assistance Fund:
Brownies and Guides may apply for the Dorothy Chan Camp Assistance Fund if they cannot afford to pay the full amount of the camp fee. The details and application form are available from the GGS website at
http://www.girlguides.org.sg/forms_download/. This form is only to be submitted when the Coy/Pack’s registration for the camp has been accepted.
Kit List:
The camp kit list will be sent to confirmed participants at a later date.
All Brownie and Guide participants are required to sleep under tentage.
Tents and gadget poles will not be provided. Each Guide patrol is required to bring its own tent to camp. The tent need not necessarily be the canvas A-frame ridge tent. Sub-camps are not expected to build gadgets.
Activities:
Kayaking, high elements, night cycling, pioneering, circus actsOthers:
Each Guide patrol is expected to host either 2 Brownies or 2 International delegates.
Registration Process:
The closing date is 11 August 2007. As there are limited places, participation at the camp is on a 1st-come-1st-served basis. Companies/Packs are to submit the following:
1) Participant list (please note that there is a different form for Brownies and Guides).
2) Consent form for every girl listed in the participation list.
Hardcopies must be submitted via post to or in person at Guide House. Fax submissions will NOT be accepted.
The international camp organizing committee will inform packs/companies if their registration is successful. Companies/Packs will then submit the soft copy of the participation list and arrange the payment for the camp.
