I noe I'm supposed to blog abt Camp Inspire, even if it's jus ONE word.. Haha.. At least 2 ppl wld be interested to read abt it.. Let me do it in pt-form format ba..
Well, this is my FIRST CAMP for Year 2008.. (Thanks PW, Putri & Addie for their help prior and during the camp!!)
Date: 18~19th Jan 2008
Time: 6pm (18th) - 10pm (19th)
Venue: Mayflower Secondary School
18th Jan6pm - Reach MF, settle in, arrange dinner for the gals, crap wif Lester & PW & Mr Gana on campfire stuffs.
7pm - Dinner time - CHICKEN RICE!
730pm - Shower Time
8pm - Mtg (MFGG Leaders wif MF Rovers), Allocation of duty, PW wif Lester for campfire stuffs. Me, Putri & Adel do Treasure Hunt. MF Rovers do Obstacle course.
9pm - Went Sheng Siong to buy materials for treasure hunt after discussion.
930pm - Reach MF, start to snap photos of places for treasure hunt.. We thought we were really evil, bt the juniors knew most of the places..
11pm - Report to Yew Choon on places for treasure hunt.. Sent the gals to slp.. Go ard to ‘hala’ with the other leaders.. Helped PW entangle the wires for fireball.. ‘Cheer’ Putri on for testing the obstacle course.. (she used 7min+ while the guys used 2min+)
12pm – YC did debrief for the scouts..
19th Jan
1230am – Leaders mtg.. I chose ‘Longest Line’ for Treasure Hunt & ‘Monkey Crawl’ for Obstacle Course..
0130am – Went for roti prata with the leaders.. I treated my fellow (MFGG) leaders..
2+am – Went back to I&E room, briefed XinYi abt the Ice-breakers (I’m in charge).. Printed out the photos for treasure hunt.. Found out Lester’s laptop can’t Bluetooth & Infra-Red.. No choice, some photos haf to retake.. Asked Putri & Addie to help print multiple pics in a A4 sheet while PW & I ran ard to retake some photos.. Sad sia.. Tat was ard 3am le..
330am – Went back to I&E room to print out the remaining photos.. (I took my piglet from bag to acc me during the printing time.. To console myself for nt being able to slp cos haf to cover other’s duty last min.. Haiz..) We cut, print, cut, print.. YC came and k my piglet.. OMG!! 怪叔叔！Haha..
430am – One by one, the scouts went to slp.. We persuade Addie to go slp 1st cos she’s the emcee for the campfire tat nite.. Putri acc her to slp.. Me & PW remained behind to cut paper.. I told Putri to slp til 8am..
5am – . PW & I slp til 6am..
YES, YOU DIDN’T CALCULATE WRONGLY, IT’S ONE HOUR SLEEP!! I shared my thicker slpin bag wif PW and use the thinner 1 for head rest.. Wahaha.. I’m smart rite? Haha.. Bt we din managed to gt much slp.. Sianz..
6am – We woke up bt slack in bed.. Thankfully our gals gt “heart”, din make too much noise, cos Putri & Addie still slpin.. We woke up to brush teeth at 615am..
630am – Fall in & went out for breakfast wif the gals.. Prata Time! Woohoo!
7am – Eat, Eat, Eat!
715am – Walk to Sheng Siong to buy the ingredients for dinner (our juniors cooking).. Peiwen & I are entertaining ourselves wif crap while looking for stuffs for Lester.. hmm.. This is wad I told them,
“财神will leave Sheng Siong at 745am”.. Wahaha.. Yes! That’s Me! Den the juniors so cute lor, kept negotiating wif me on budget.. Haha.. Cos PW said, “$60 for 15 pax for dinner will 天打雷劈de wor!” OMG! In order nt the taste the karma, I slash the budget to $45.. N it’s already over budget le lor.. Dunno y teachers kept getting more & more bonuses bt each kid only given $2/meal.. OMG! Chicken rice every meal meh? Can’t be rite?
Thx God I’m feeding gals.. Can’t imagine hw Lester cope wif the scouts.. Eat, eat, eat! Hehe..
8am – Reach back to sch.. Arrange food in Home Ed rm (the gals); run thru the treasure hunt stations (me); psycho our 2 sec 1 gals to stay for the camp (PW)
845am – Start Ice-breaker.. I’ve only done Double Ring Wacko.. After that, Lester took over maybe cos I’m nt enthu enuf (tat I admits).. Lester’s so funny lor.. PW & I were very entertained.. Hw can a 28 yr old man be so energetic har? Strange lei.. YC & Darren also very funny.. (wad is 1+2x3?)
930am – Treasure Hunt.. Haha.. I’m i/c of the longest line.. Quite boring la.. Somemore no other stations near mine.. So super bored lor.. Bt the kids so funny lor.. Made them lie on the carpark floor to gt the longest line.. (*,*)
1145am – Orientation Dance!! YES! HONG DOU!! Wahaha.. YC said this yr must learn new dance le wor.. 红日！Haha.. Dunno what’s tat.. N hor, I haven fully master HONG DOU yet wor.. Cham.. Haha.. The only thing I rmb is the left right left right.. Haha.. Thank God, I’ve some (and only SOME) gals who’re enthu enuf to go in front to lead the dance.. Hmm..
1245pm – Slideshow
1300pm – Lunch for Girls.. PW & I went to discuss issues wif Mdm Ng (analyzing hw to open the gas valve..) & claim $$ from her too.. PW touch here touch dere wif Ms Mok’s stuff.. Highly fascinated.. haha..
1350pm – Lunch wif PW.. Basically gulped down CHICKEN RICE AGAIN!!
1400pm – Obstacle Course.. I was wif ZQ at the flag pole area for monkey crawl.. He showed the kids how to change to commando crawl.. Haha.. My gals highly fascinated.. He gt challenged by Stanley somemore.. I’m only i/c of my gals (when they came), cos ZQ is obviously a guy!! Haha.. N so, only I can touch my gals.. (get it?) haha.. So sad la.. I’m the only one wif First Aid qualification.. So I’m the first aider.. One of my gals gt a splint under her skin (palm), so I was poking out the splint for her lor.. Haha.. YC wanna help bt gave us the very evil smile.. So we said better nt.. Haha.. 怪叔叔！
1630pm – Wash up.. Gotten heat rash though I wasn't under direct sunlight.. Haiz.. Was toking wif Mdm Ng & Mr Gana again.. Analyzing the gas valve again.. Bt OMG!! We realized the whole home ed room nv close the valve lor.. So dangerous.. Over the wkends somemore.. (to tink that the home ed teacher even reminded Mr Gana repeatedly to close the gas valve after use.. So ironic lor..)
PW & I were like saying, “OMG! We gt study gas valve during our poly yrs de lor.. No wonder we thought the gas valve nv close in the 1st place lor.. Teachers can’t be trusted at times too.. Wahaha.. FYI, closed valve should be parallel to the pipe; opened valve shld be perpendicular to pipe..)
1700pm – Gals started to cook.. PW & I made sure they started cooking le den go bathe.. While Putri & Addie joined the scouts in their war game.. Haha.. Water bombs & water hose!! Haha..
1830pm – I went up to home ed room to check on the gals.. Their cooking skills really commendable lor.. Haha.. N they (those few who stayed behind to clean) really cleaned up very nicely lor..
Next time can include cooking in our camp le.. hmm.. Putri, remind me wor..
1930pm – Campfire started officially.. Darren not dere to be DJ.. Quite sad.. Cos he’s a SUPER GOOD DJ lor.. Really enjoyed past Shadows campfire.. Hmm..
Anyway, our sch de PA members really sucks at their job la.. PA system also cannot make it.. Last yr, Andrew taught them to incorporate soft music in between the program, they totally nv do it lor.. Haiz.. Anyway, I was at the opening (basic discipline & respect for campfire & myself)..
The campfire crew’s (esp Lester & PW) hard wk finally paid off.. Thank God, we’ve GREAT EMCEES (FRED & ADDIE), who weren’t affected by the stupid microphones.. PW & I went to eat our dinner during the initial program.. YES! CHICKEN RICE AGAIN!
Was appreciating the fried chicken wings by our juniors.. Nice lor.. Alan, Melvin also came & kapok.. Haha.. After tat, PW & I kena saboed by Lester to do Chek Chek Kolek.. Sad.. Haha.. Bt had fun.. Den the next game, the five of us [Me, PW, Putri, XinYi & MeiYun (is it?)] went to hide, cos scared of being saboed again.. Haha.. Overall, had lotsa fun la.. Haha..
2030pm – Campfire ended.. We helped to bring the benches back to canteen.. Scouts cleared the sparse and Rovers cleared the pit.. PW & I went to spoke wif Lenice’s father.. (thx alan for the reminder..)
21oopm - Sec 1s being released.. Home Sweet Home..
2200pm – MFGG being released.. Home Sweet Home.. PW & I went to chat wif Mdm Ng and ltr Mr Gana..
2300pm – Addie, PW & I went hm.. Putri, while waiting for their father to fetch her, spoke to Lester abt Rovering..
That ended the camp.. Bt our BP (guides and scouts) Spirit will continue to burn ever so brightly.. I look forward to more activities wif the scouts.. VAL at the end of this yr.. Yeah!! (*,*)
