Everyone Misses Someone or Something……
I think the only reason which stops us from declaring that feeling is because we all thought others had chosen to move on, simply because others had shown no outer enthusiasm on “the thing”. To be honest, I’m born an extrovert. But even for an extrovert like myself, I feel it hard to express my yearning for a certain something/someone. I personally think that it all boils down to us feeling a sense of loneliness whenever we discussed our feelings. Who can deny that whenever we think back on a certain issue, we can’t help but feel a sense of regret for not being able to re-experience the occasion again? To hold onto something/someone, it takes more courage than to let go of it. Of course, many had chosen to bury that memory deep in their hearts, determined never to unfold it. Simple reason – it wouldn’t hurt as much. Why? Human being is a cruel species. If someone chooses to live in his/her own memory lane, she/he would be teased, scolded or even feared. The older we grow, the more memory we buried. I would never deny the fact that I miss Dreams 5, the good old times being a girl guide, the days I spent walking around in Wisma, the star-gazing night on 22nd Dec 2003, etc. Just because someone doesn’t say something about it, doesn’t mean she/he doesn’t miss it! All that I missed never fail to make me sad, with a tinge of regret. Sometimes even with tears in my eyes. On the other hand, to forget and let go isn’t an easy thing either. It takes as much courage too. Do you know – A senile patient often forgets where he/she lives at, but could remember some occasions which had happened decades ago? It just goes to prove that it simply isn’t easy to forget either. With this, I beseech you readers to search deep into your soul and think through the following, (i) Is the occasion/someone worth your missing for?; (ii) Did your friend(s) really stopped missing something/someone?; (iii) Do you really have to share your missing for something/someone with anyone else?; (iv) What are you trying to prove?
That’s all for now! (*,*)
